Zones in Kaziranga National Park
Central Zone (Kohora Zone): This is the most popular zone, known for its
dense population of rhinoceroses. It also offers a good chance of spotting elephants, swamp deer, and
tigers. Jeep and elephant safaris are available in this zone.
Western Zone (Bagori Zone): This zone is famous for its large herds of
elephants and rhinos. The landscape includes grasslands, woodlands, and water bodies, making it a
hotspot for bird watching. Jeep and elephant safaris are popular here.
Eastern Zone (Agoratoli Zone): Known for its picturesque landscapes and rich
birdlife, this zone is less crowded and offers a more tranquil safari experience. It’s ideal for
bird watchers and those looking to see the park’s diverse fauna, including tigers and wild
buffalo. Jeep safaris are the only option here.
Burapahar Zone: This westernmost zone is known for its hilly terrain and
dense forests, offering a different kind of safari experience. It’s a great area to spot gibbons,
capped langurs, and other primates. Jeep safaris and trekking are the main activities in this zone.
Panbari Reserve Forest: This adjacent area is a rich biodiversity hotspot
with a variety of flora and fauna, including birds, butterflies, and small mammals. Walking and
